Former Masterchef: The Professionals winner to open restaurant in Brighton

Steven Edwards, one of the youngest ever winners of MasterChef: The Professionals (2013), is set to open the doors of his first restaurant, etch, in Brighton on Friday March 24.

With the Sussex countryside and surrounding areas being home to some of the finest, freshest and tastiest ingredients, Steven is passionate about celebrating local produce and supporting local suppliers.

From The Cheeseman in Hove to Beals Farm Charcuterie in North Chailey, Steven has made it his mission to get to know the ‘locals’ and incorporate their produce into his dishes.

Steven Edwards, owner and Head Chef of etch. commented: “The opening of etch. is a very proud moment for me. I have found the perfect location in Brighton – the local produce available here is outstanding and I’ve loved getting to know the suppliers.

“There is already a fantastic food and drink offering in Brighton so I can’t wait to open the doors and share etch. with the public now.”

Having trained with some of the country’s leading chefs, including Raymond Blanc and Chris Wheeler, Steven previously worked at the five-star South Lodge Hotel in Sussex, where he won Sussex Young Chef of the Year in 2010.

etch. by Steven Edwards is located on 216 Church Road, and will be open Wednesday – Saturday for dinner and also for lunch on Saturdays.

The restaurant has a private dining room seating eight people that will be available for private hire.
