Martlets Hospice held a Big Get Together tea-party on Wednesday (October 11)  as part of its Hospice Care Week celebrations.

Patients, their families, volunteers and staff enjoyed cakes in the Martlets café to raise money for the hospice.

This year’s Hospice Care Week theme is ‘We are hospice care’ and highlights the people who work behind the scenes quietly caring for the patients and their families.

Liz Davies from the Martlets fundraising team, said: “It was fantastic to have so many people at our Big Get Together, all celebrating those who work so tirelessly to support our patients and their families.

“Everyone had a fun time and we all enjoyed a lot of delicious cake!

“Hospice Care Week is the perfect time to hold a Big Get Together since it’s a fundraising campaign that is all about spending time and making memories with the people who matter.

“Anyone can hold a Big Get Together to raise money for Martlets; it’s a wonderful opportunity to have some fun, whether that’s a family barbeque, a pamper party, a posh dinner party or even a Halloween party.

“All that we ask is that you have a brilliant time raising money for your local hospice.”
