Witnesses to a collision between a cyclist and pedestrian in Hove are asked to contact police with any information they have.

Police are investigating the incident at the junction of Third Avenue with Church Road, at 7.45am on Friday, May 5.

The crash involved a 47-year-old local woman who was knocked unconscious.

Officers said she sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.

The cyclist, a 39-year-old man from Hove, was unhurt.
