Van collides with Portslade railway barrier

A van collided with the railway barrier at Portslade this morning (June 20), police said.

Train services are still on track, crossing has been closed to traffic, while engineers make repairs.

Sussex Police said: "At 11.18am on Tuesday a van collided with one of the closed crossing barriers at Portslade railway station and drove away.

"There are no reports of injuries or any other damage.

"Trains are still running but the crossing is closed to traffic for time being while Network Rail make repairs.

"The van has not yet been traced."
