Video: Rottingdean school fire suspected arson

A blaze at a former Rottingdean school was being treated as suspicious, the fire service said.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene of a fire at the disused St Aubyns School at 3.17pm on Sunday (October 22).

Five fire engines from Roedean, Preston Circus and Newhaven were called to the scene, after reports of a fire in an outbuilding that was used as the school gym.

In a statement last night, East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: "!Crews are making good progress and will remain at the scene through most of the evening continuing to damp down and extinguish the fire.

"The incident is being treated as suspicious."
