The choir has already this year performed at a sell-out gig at St Clements Church in Hastings Old Town and joined the United Colours of Rhythm line-up at St Mary in the Castle earlier this month.

The 40-strong choir, comprising singers from Hastings and Rye will be accompanied by instrumentalists, including guitar, bass guitar keyboard, percussion, and violin, adding another dimension to an already powerful sound.

The concert will feature soloist Juliet Russell, the choir’s director and a singer and composer in her own right. Juliet’s mission is to keep raising the profile of world music locally, and each term Vocal Explosion Choir, which is non-auditioning and open to all, works to embrace a different world culture musically.

The concert at St Mary’s Church, Church Square, Rye, is in aid of the charity Canine Partners. Doors open at 7pm and the concert starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £8 for adults (including a complimentary glass of wine/soft drink) and £4 for children 13 years and under (including a complimentary soft drink). They are available in advance from Grammar School Records, 15a High Street, Rye, or on the door.
