FILM: Made in Dagenha in East Preston
WINTER film nights will make a welcome return to East Preston.
The first monthly screening, on Wednesday, November 10, will be Made in Dagenham, a look at the 1968 strike at the Ford Dagenham car plant, when female workers walked out, demanding equal pay, leading to the first equal rights legislation.
The British-made film stars Sally Hawkins and Bob Hoskins.
Tickets to the event, at East Preston and Kingston Village Hall, at 7pm, are £5 each, and are available from Hedgers Newsagents and Sea View Stores, both in Sea Road, or on the door, which opens at 7pm.
