The £120 million redevelopment of the former AMEX House in Brighton, is said to be the largest commercial development in central Brighton in the last 25 years.

Demolition of AMEX House is complete and construction is set to commence in early summer 2019.

In addition to 150,000 sq ft of commercial space, including 110,000 sq ft of office space, 168 new homes will be built on the eight acre site.

The developers, First Base and Patron Capital have announced the appointment of Cushman & Wakefield, CF Commercial and SHW as agents for the development.

Steve Eccles, Project Director at First Base, said: “The growth of Brighton’s creative sector has been frustrated by a shortage of quality workspace, so we anticipate strong demand for the space we are delivering at Edward Street Quarter.

“We look forward to working with our agents to create an exciting mix of businesses, cafes and restaurants at this new neighbourhood in central Brighton.”

Designed by London-based architects BuckleyGreyYeoman, and inspired by Brighton’s eclectic street scene, the Edward Street Quarter will also feature three new public spaces created by landscape designers Spacehub, with 130 new trees and 45 plant species.
