Shoppers head to Churchill square in Brighton

Brighton's Churchill Square shopping centre has reopened most of its stores today.

As lockdown eases all non-essential retail has been allowed to reopen today, along with hairdressers, beauty and nail salons and indoor leisure facilities such as gyms and spas. Outside seating areas at many pubs, cafes and restaurants have also opened.

We took these photos at Brighton's indoor shopping centre this morning (Monday). It will be open until 6pm today. Crowds were starting to build and there were queues for shops, including the LEGO store, H&M kids and the Apple store, where customers' temperatures were being taken.

Debenhams was proving popular, too, with shoppers heading there for its closing down sale after the company went into administration. The shopping centre has a one-way system in place and plenty of hand sanitiser stations.
