Eastbourne bar forced to shut due to positive Covid tests

Jesters Sport & Music Bar, on Seaside Road, posted on Facebook on December 21 revealing that two members of staff have tested positive and are now isolating.

Bar owner Ben Saber said, “As from today we are closed until all members of staff working get their results back. Any staff who test positive will follow the isolation rules.

“We have had the venue deep cleaned today which makes the venue Covid safe and everyone on track and trace will be contacted today to be made aware.”

Mr Saber says he has spoken to Public Health England, and he was told that because the bar had a deep clean, it can open as soon as a member of staff comes back with a negative test.

He said, “We chose to close for the safety of staff, customers and the general public.”
