Global Radio to close Portslade studio with regional Heart and Capital shows facing the axe
An international radio broadcaster is set to close its Portslade site and cut dozens of jobs across the country, it announced today (February 26).
Global Radio owns Heart Sussex as well as Capital Brighton – formerly Juice Brighton.
The news was revealed by RadioToday UK, which said that Capital, Heart and Smooth radio stations are 'ending local and regional breakfast shows this year as Global introduces national programmes on all frequencies'.
It means dozens of staff could lose their jobs and studios across the country are set to close – including Global's base in Franklin Road, Portslade.
The firm is set to axe a number of regional shows across the country, centralising much of its programming.
Global bought Juice Brighton in February last year, launching Capital Brighton in September.
