Brighton based couple, Ross Blake and Alice Duvernois, are the owners of the 640 East concept.

Ross said: “We’re really excited about opening up the edgy space on Upper Gardner Street as it fits our brand perfectly.”

There will be a ‘grab and go station’ at the front of the site where locals can pre-order their coffee on the 640 East app.

Small plates will be served throughout the day, with an impressive local beer and wine list.

A chef residency (to be announced) will bring a local edge to small plate dining in the evening.

Ross said: “The kitchen space is the perfect experimental space for local chefs that don’t have their own premises. It’s great to support local talent.”

The cafe will host collaborative events that will run throughout the year.

The store officially opens in November, but a number of events are planned for the end of October.
