Chichester school consulting on plans to join academy trust

The Trust also runs the nearby Central Academy, as well as The March CE Primary School, and there is a possibility of Lancastrian and Central sharing a name.

Despite this, DCAT has insisted there would be no merger of the schools.

A spokesman said the plan was to strengthen the links between the schools, adding: “The proposal maintains that both schools remain as individual schools; there are no plans to modify or close either site.”

DCAT is made up of nine schools in East Sussex, West Sussex and Hampshire, with the pupils rated above average in reading, writing and maths in 2019 – 73 per cent of them meeting the expected standard in all three subjects.

Lancastrian governors are looking for feedback from the local community of the plans to join the Trust.
