Primary school places in Brighton and Hove - this year’s figures

The number of familiies in Brighton and Hove who have been offered their preferred primary school has increased.

The number of familiies in Brighton and Hove who have been offered their preferred primary school has increased.

On Friday (April 16) Brighton and Hove City council confirmed that this year the number has risen from 87.9 per cent from last year, to 90 per cent for pupils starting school this coming September.

Of the 2,466 applications, 2,220 pupils were allocated to their first choice school, 166 their second choice and 34 their third choice.

A council spokesperson said: “If you need advice regarding your school place offer, please email [email protected]

“Parents wishing to appeal against the school place they’ve been offered can do so through the council’s website on the following link: https://www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/children-and-learning/appeal-school-place .

“The deadline for submitting an appeal is 17 May.”
