Students ‘outperform their peers’

Among 23 pupils who achieved ten or more A* or A grades were Thomas Farr and Roberto Salvia, who each earned 14 A* or As.

Toby Beesley, Jack Edwards, Calum Robison and Louis Timperley all achieved 13 A* or As, while Ed Jeffrey, Qing Liu, and Sean Hutchinson all got 12 grades at A*/A.

Headteacher Siobhan Denning said “I am extremely proud of our boys. They continue to outperform their peers, both boys and girls, nationally and their results this year are no exception.

“It was lovely to be in school and share in their excitement and delight as they opened their envelopes and read their results. There were so many happy faces and it was wonderful to see so many staff to share in the boys’ successes.

“Historically, our boys always do well in Maths – 81% of them achieved a C grade this year, against a national figure of 63%. However, I’m especially delighted with our English results. Early indications show that nationally the pass figure is 65% - our boys achieved 83% - a great achievement.”

A quarter of all results were A* or A grades. A total of 70 per cent of boys attained five A*-C grades, with 66 per cent achieving five A*-C including English and maths.

Ms Denning added “I am delighted that the hard work, commitment and dedication of our pupils and staff, along with the support of parents, have been rewarded.

“At Forest we strive to challenge pupils and provide an environment where boys really can learn best. Our results this year show that boys continue to do very well at Forest.”

Cliff Purvis, chair of governors added: “The boys should be extremely proud of their achievements. Our pupils, their parents and the staff at the school are to be congratulated on another pleasing year of results.”
