Youngsters at West Chiltington School were taught essential basic life support and life saving skills through an initiative set up by a new charity called Little LifeSavers.

The charity was established in West Sussex following drop-in ‘meet the doctors’ public CPR training sessions delivered by junior doctors during their recent strike.

The charity consists of volunteers who are doctors, nurses and other allied health professionals as well as non-medical members of the public from all walks of life who have been trained to deliver CPR teaching through the charity.

A spokesperson said: “We are also raising awareness of working family poverty by collecting a food bank donation each time we teach.

“Our first teaching session at West Chiltington School was an enormous success and we have created 30 Little LifeSavers in West Sussex.”
