Hugh Ford said he was alarmed to read that over 70s will be contacted about getting the vaccine when so many over 80s are yet to be vaccinated.

On January 18 it was reported on the government website that ‘people aged 70 and over and the clinically extremely vulnerable will start getting their jabs today’. However, Hugh is 95 and still hasn’t been vaccinated.

Hugh said, “Patience is my pride, but it has undergone a mighty test since the Covid-19 set in locally, and omniously.

“Heartening is the news that one, still waiting for the jab at over 95, will in ‘the coming days’ be contacted to report for the jab.”

This comes after it was announced this week that Hailsham will be joining the vaccine roll out by three of it’s GP surgeries starting to give the vaccine next week (January 25).

Hugh said he understands the pressures NHS staff are under but said, “I know that I am not alone. There are many over 80’s waiting as well.”
