CHILDREN at William Penn School in Coolham have been looking at new ways to reuse materials in an EcoArt project. All year groups at the primary school enjoyed flower pot painting, weaving, making scarecrows and investigating wind energy as part of the two-day event.
A spokesperson for the school said: “All the children have thoroughly enjoyed their eco-art fun and the opportunities have given them lots of ideas for how to reuse things that they would normally throw away.
“Children were given guidance on how to make or begin their activities but the finished project involved lots of their own thought and so each project is as individual as the children themselves.
“The two days have been a huge success, both in terms of the learning involved and the fun had by children, teaching staff and parent helpers who are invaluable to this type of activity.”
