A fine drop of ale

BEACHY Head is to get its own home-brew.

Beachy Head Original Ale has been created by farmer Charlie Davies-Gilber in a micro-brewery in an old barn near Beachy Head, with the help of award-winning local brewer Roger Green.

The brewery is producing about 800 bottles of beer a week.

Mr Davies-Gilber said: 'It's a very labour-intensive process at the moment with all the bottling and labelling being done by hand, but one of the hardest things was choosing a name.'

The ale is on sale at village stores in East Dean, Alfriston and Berwick.
