A Presley to sing in Sussex

ELVIS Presley's cousin will be performing in Lewes next week as a new opera begins a tour of the county.

Robert Presley will sing Ashmodeus '“ the demon '“ in Tobias and the Angel.

Also taking part will be children from Priory School, Lewes, and Ringmer Community College.

Jonathan Dove's 1999 Tobias and the Angel is one of the most successful new operas of recent years and has been performed to critical acclaim.

Tobias and the Angel plays at St John sub Castro, Lewes, on March 16.

Other performance are at: Holy Trinity, Cuckfield (March 17), St Dunstan's, Mayfield (March 24), St Bartholomew's, Brighton (March 25), Arundel Cathedral (March 29), St Paul's, Chichester (March 30), St Saviour's, Eastbourne (March 31). All performances are at 7.30pm

Tickets are 20 and 15 (concessions 18 and 13; children 10) and are available by post (cheque and sae please) from 22 Bradford Road, Lewes, BN7 1RB.
