A27 closed in both directions due to 'police incident' around Southwick Tunnel

The A27 has been closed in both directions near the Southwick Tunnel as police deal with an incident.

Both carriageways have been closed off and traffic has come to a standstill around the A293 West Hove turn-off.

Queues are stretching back as far east as the A23 in Brighton and back west into Lancing.

The reason for the closure has only been given as a 'police incident', currently.

Sussex Police have been approached for more information.
