Accountants at Reed Accountancy partnered with Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals Charity (BSUH Charity), the official charity for the BSUH NHS Trust, and launched a campaign asking their clients to donate advent calendars to the hospital.

More than 30 businesses from Hastings to Chichester contributed to the fundraising effort by Reed Accountancy Brighton, to bring early Christmas presents to The Alex.

Amy Farmer, play specialist at Royal Alexandra, said: “We’ve never received a donation of advent calendars before, so this is a great way to start spreading Christmas cheer at the Alex. The calendars will be a nice treat for our long-term patients and their siblings, and we will make sure lots of children receive one as soon as possible! We can’t thank Reed Accountancy and the BSUH Charity enough.”

Maz Williams, senior executive recruitment consultant at Reed Accountancy, was the mastermind behind the campaign, and said: “This has been a great way for all businesses from across the area to show their support for the Hospital Charity and bring some festive joy as we get closer to Christmas. “

Jess Burgess, the BSUH charity fundraising manager, said: “We were thrilled to work with Maz and Reed Accountancy on this campaign. They shared their vision with me only about four weeks ago, and have been phenomenal in bringing this idea to life. It is truly our pleasure to work with them!”
