It has been organised by supporters of the charity and guests will be invited to gather to celebrate two decades of its vital work and raise money for the charity in the process.

With domestic abuse affecting a huge number locally and demand increasing year on year, the support of local people and businesses has helped RISE buck the national trend and actually increase its services in the face of austerity.

Lorna Stagg, who is organising the ball, said: "We know how vital RISE services are, some of us from personal experience.

'When we have a brilliant local charity like RISE it is important we value, support and cherish it.

'We must never take it for granted and want to celebrate its achievements and help raise money to make sure there is help for anyone who needs it.'
