INSPECTION: Amicus Horizon have sent me the result of the July neighbourhood inspection by housing officer Lapierre and in it Marie reports the estate was generally in good order. The hedge beyond the new gate looked much tidier, weeds along the path on the green and along the pavement unsightly. Estate services to get the area treated. Four residents to get a letter about untidy front gardens. The improvement to The Green are being processed so that lorries etc can go round. Marie’s next inspection is due on September 29 at about noon.

CRICKET: For the cricket fixture for August 24 phone Karen Towner, honorary secretary, on 01424 436523. Five more fixtures to the end of the season, then indoor cricket starts.

GP: Our local GP Clive Dewing is walking to the roof of Africa for the Starfish Malawi charity by trekking up Mount Kilimajaro in Tanzania (19,341 ft) and is the highest walkable mountain in the world and will take about six days to reach the summit, camping along the way. Clive would appreciate any support and has a donation site. His target is to raise £2,000 and will take place in October.
