Body found in Portslade in search for missing 20-year-old woman

Police searching for a 20-year-old woman who had been missing from her address in Hove since Friday evening (March 19), have sadly found a body.

The body was found in woods near Portslade Cricket Club in Benfield Valley, Portslade, on Sunday (March 21), Sussex Police confirmed.

A police spokesman said: “Although formal identification is yet to take place the body is tragically believed to be that of Amy Springer and her next of kin have been informed.

“There are no suspicious circumstances and the coroner’s officer is continuing enquiries.”

A media appeal was issued on Saturday (March 20), for information on Amy’s whereabouts.

Multiple police cars were seen earlier in Sainsbury’s car park which backs onto Benfield Valley Recreation Ground.

A police cordon was also in place.
