The body of a University of Sussex student was found in the water at Brighton Marina on Sunday (September 23).
A University of Sussex spokesperson said: “We are deeply saddened by this news and are in close contact with his family and friends at this difficult time. We are encouraging our students to seek support from our on campus services if they need to talk and need support.”
Emergency services were called to the Marina on Sunday afternoon.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said: “At 2.20pm on Sunday (September 23) the body of a man was found in water at Brighton Marina.
“There are no suspicious circumstances and the coroner’s officer is continuing enquiries.
“The man is believed to be in his twenties and had been living locally but he has not yet been formally identified.”
