BREAKING: Fire in Rottingdean

East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service are currently at the scene of a fire in Rottingdean (Sunday October 22).

At 3.17pm afternoon five fire engines were called to a fire at the disused St Aubyns School in Steyning Road, Rottingdean.

According to a fire service spokesperson, engines from Roedean, Preston Circus and Newhaven were all sent to the incident, which is ongoing.

Firefighters are one hose reel jet and two 45 metre jets to extinguish the fire, according to a spokesperson.

The fire is causing delays on the A259 and Steyning Road.

Brighton and Hove police tweeted: “We are assisting East Sussex at a fire in #Rottingdean. Traffic is building up along A259. Avoid the area & thanks for your patience.”
