Brede church set for flower festival

ST GEORGE’S Church at Brede holds its 33rd annual Flower Festival over the bank holiday weekend.

The theme of the festival this year is The Bible in Colour and the church promises to look very colourful indeed with over 30 displays and 30.

All the displays will be based around a passage in the Bible where there is reference to a colour.

The festival is open from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and Monday and from 10.30am to 4:30pm on Sunday there will be refreshments, stalls and a grand raffle which, this year, includes tickets for the EDF London Eye and DFDS Seaways from Dover to Calais or Dunkirk amongst other prizes.

A trip up the Tower to see the amazing view across the Brede Valley is well worth the climb.

There will be Sung Eucharist at 9:30am and a special Songs of Praise service at 5.00pm on Sunday. Entrance is free but all donations will be gratefully received.
