The Italian Bar & Kitchen has picked up multiple awards in its first year, achieving the highest new entry coming in sixth at the Brighton Best Restaurant Awards, despite having only been open for three months. The restaurant also picked up the Best Welcome Award at the event and made it into the Waitrose Good Food Guide 2018.

David Toscano, founder of Cin Cin, began his journey into the culinary world in a 1972 vintage Fiat street food van, taking his passion for Italian food and drink on the road to festivals, events and venues across the UK.

He eventually gave up his city lawyer job to focus on finding Cin Cin a permanent home, which opened in Brighton in November.

Mr Toscano said: "We really have had an amazing first year at Vine Street but it's time to spread our wings and raise the bar a little. Every day I get a little more excited for what we are about to bring to the food scene of our great city.

“We have worked really hard to come up with a design that will be instantly recognisable as a Cin Cin restaurant, so it will still be casual Italian dining on stools around a u-shaped bar with an open kitchen. But we will also have a private dining room for parties and events so we can bring the joy of Italian feasting to groups of our fantastic customers.”

Head chef Jamie Halsall will be working across both sites with an expanded team to not only maintain the high standard of Vine Street, but to raise the bar of the Italian cuisine in the South East.

Cin Cin’s Italian Bar & Kitchen will open in Western Road, Hove in January 2018. To book at the Vine Street restaurant call 01273 698 813.
