An interactive Walk of Fame on Brighton Palace Pier will pay homage to famous stars and musicians linked to the city.
From The Who and Abba, to Rag and Bone Man and James Bay, the walk will see visitors interact with specially-created music plaques along the pier.
By scanning codes on the plaques, passers-by will activate a digital Walk of Fame experience on their smartphones and access unique content and music from those artists.
Anne Ackord, chief executive officer of the company which owns Brighton Palace Pier, said: “The pier is delighted to welcome the Walk of Fame to the pier and help to celebrate all the amazing music that has its home in Brighton.”
The project is a partnership between Brighton Palace Pier and Walk of Fame Media Ltd, with the help of Shazam, the popular music recognition app.
David Courtney, co-founder of Walk of Fame Media Ltd, said: “As a young musician growing up in Brighton I am thrilled to see the Brighton Music Walk of Fame come to fruition. The Brighton Palace Pier is one of the UK’s iconic leisure attractions and the perfect hosting location to reflect the music legacy of Brighton and Sussex”
The Walk of Fame will launch on Wednesday, June 27.
