Camp proves lifechanging for charity’s group
ARK Horsham, which helps people facing difficult life circumstaces, took a group to Encounter Camp in rural Worcestershire earlier this month. It is the fifth year the charity has attended with positive results.
Lisa Burrell of ARK said: “Encounter Camp offers a wonderful opportunity for the ARK family to spend some time together away from the pressures of everyday life and hear from others who have experienced similar trials and challenges in life.

“The Christian faith is all about freeing individuals from any form of control and this camp gives them an opportunity to explore that teaching.”
One of the ARK family, a 38-year-old Horsham man, said: “It was great, it gave me time to think and reflect on my life and some of the bad decisions and mistakes I have made.
“What they said really made sense and now I’m looking at moving forward with my life, starting by going to rehab with ARK’S help.”

Lisa added: “Over the past five years we have had some wonderful times at camp and it has been the point at which some have decided to take bold steps in changing their lives for the better. That can be anything from entering rehab, learning new skills or repairing relationships with family.
“Each year it’s a privilege to return and hear people’s stories of the difference the week has made in their lives.”
