Cash helps Bognor Regis table tennis enthusiasts

TABLE tennis players in Bognor Regis have netted a grant.

The members of Bognor Regis Table Tennis Club have been awarded £2,000 to enable their sessions to be affordable to all.

The money has come from national charity Sported as part of its support for community sports initiatives.

The club has gone from strength to strength since it was founded by head coach and co-ordinator, Matt Sadlowski, in 2009.

They have achieved two championship wins in the South West Sussex Table Tennis League, in which they compete in Division One. The goal is to enter more teams – one adult and one junior – in the league as well as another team in the tougher British Table tennis League.

The club has some 30 players, of whom 12 are juniors. The growing numbers has led to a move into larger premises at The Arena Sports Centre with the help of Carol Fullick, the development manager of Bognor CAN.
