Charlie, who attends Little Horsted School, painted a poster with the motto 'Save when you re small for when you re tall . His junior masterpiece was last week announced the winner of the up-to-eight age group, which meant a prize of a new computer for the school and a brand new mountain bike for Charlie.

Mum Joanna broke the good news to Charlie and his classmates after receiving a call from the Daily Mail. She said: 'I was going into school that day anyway because it was the day of the Nativity. Charlie was in class at the time so I went in and told everyone his good news. They were all so excited.

However, she added: 'I didn t tell him about the mountain bike though, because I didn t think he d do any work!
