The Academy of Gym currently uses space at Westgate Leisure Centre and Chichester High School for Girls but will no longer be able to rent space by the end of the summer.

It is a non-profit gymnastics club and describes itself as delivering gymnastic classes for all ‘in a fun, friendly and safe environment’.

“We’re so desperate to get somewhere,” said member Annie Yeates, adding the club needed to find somewhere ‘pretty fast’.

She said although they tended to rent space at leisure centres and schools, at the moment they were looking for one location where they could store equipment as this was easier for parents and gymnasts.

The club meets about five times per week and also has a squad that enters competitions.

“We’ve been running for quite a while but we broke off from our old gym,” she said.

“At the moment it’s anything really,” she said. “A school would be ideal because obviously they can store our equipment.”

The hopes are somewhere can be found around Chichester as there are club members who come over from Portsmouth.

She said any help would be appreciated and if anyone knew of a suitable venue they should call her on 07771 638854 or email [email protected].
