Staff from the i360 are hand-delivering 2,500 free tickets to the city’s 48 primary schools from today (November 16).

The tickets can be used by the schools for reception-class group visits to British Airways i360, or given to families to use independently until July 24, 2018.

Headteacher Damien Jordan said: “A huge thank you to British Airways i360 and long may it continue.

“We enjoyed our visit to the i360 so much last year that we have included its image on our Climb Through Time wall in the playground that includes iconic images through history and the local area.

“It is great that our youngest children will now get the chance to scale the heights of our Climbing Wall as well as the i360 due to the generosity of British Airways i360.”

The i360 said it has given more than 40,000 free tickets to schoolchildren since opening in August 2016.

Steve Bax, British Airways i360 executive director, said: “We love welcoming groups of school children to British Airways i360. As the pod starts moving they get very excited, especially when they realise they can see familiar points in the city, seagulls flying past and the artwork on the nearby rooftops. Some can even see their schools!

“We are committed to sharing this unique experience with the city’s state school children and the whole team are looking forward to giving reception classes a special day out.”
