Classic cycle group publicise Museum

The weather was kind to Bexhill Classic Cycle group when members donned traditional gear to cycle around town distributing leaflets about Bexhill Museum's re-opening.

However blustery winds caused tricky moments for those ladies wearing wide-brimmed hats.

Organiser Raymond Konyn said: "We first stopped at the Museum to collect more leaflets and a quick photo shoot, and then met at the Colonnade where John Betts from the museum welcomed us, and then we handed out leaflets on the promenade and in Bexhill town including a hotel leaflet drop.

"It was amazing to note how few people were aware that the museum had actually re-opened, and were very happy to know about it and the leaflets were gratefully received. Lots of interest.

"All leaflets distributed, we stopped for a long, lazy tea at The Old Bathing Station cafe on the promenade before dispersing."

Future events of the group include an Edwardian picnic in Egerton Park on

Sunday August 23 from 1pm, and attendance in costume with bicycles at a Museum coffee morning at Parkhurst Hall on Thursday September 3 at 10am in association with the Quest for Equality exhibition.
