Costa drive-thru to open in Chichester next month

After the initial application was approved by Chichester District Council in October 2018, a number of external amendments were made to the plans. These were agreed last month.

The drive-thru, which will be the first Costa outlet of its kind in Sussex, is to be built on part of the existing car park area for the neighbouring McDonalds and Pizza Hut.

A Costa Coffee spokesperson, said: “We’re excited to confirm the opening of a brand new Costa Coffee drive-thru store at Portfield Retail Park, Chichester – coming in April 2020.

"We are looking forward to being an active part of the local community.”

Likely opening hours are stated as being from 5.30am to 10.30pm, seven days a week and the 1800sqft unit is to have both internal and external seating areas.

Plans published in August 2017 also included a statement from Costa which said the facility would ‘complement the city centre stores’ as shoppers were ‘unlikely to break their shopping trip in order to visit a drive-thru’.
