Could you be the Littlehampton Junior Carnival Queen?

ZOE Bridger has broken the ice in this chilly week – as the first entrant in the 2012 Littlehampton Junior Carnival Queen and flower girl competition.

Zoe, 11, is bidding for the title of Junior Carnival Queen and, if she wins, can look forward to a dream day on Carnival day, July 14, together with the other carnival royals in the town’s big summertime parade.

Once again the Littlehampton Gazette is supporting the event by helping to run the competition and voting process for the Junior Queen and flower girls.

And there is a new sponsor for the junior royals this year, Littlehampton’s riverside Arun View Inn.

For the Junior Queen, there is a £50 prize, a trophy, plus daywear for carnival duties, and a gorgeous dress to wear in the parade.

The two flower girls each receive £25, a trophy, daywear and a dress for the parade.

For both age groups, girls must live within a six-mile radius of Littlehampton.

Junior Queen entrants must be aged 11-15, inclusive on July 14, and would-be flower girls must be aged seven-10, inclusive, also on Carnival day.

Gazette readers will choose the winners, with voting coupons appearing in the paper in the first two weeks of March.

But first, it’s time for all those princesses who want to be royals in a procession watched by thousands of people to step forward.

To enter, pick up a copy of this week’s Littlehampton Gazette, fill in the coupon, clearly marking which category, and return it, with a full colour photograph, to Junior Carnival Queen and Flower Girl Competition, Littlehampton Gazette, 34 Beach Road, Littlehampton BN17 5HT.
