Council plan extra buses to keep Littlehampton moving at Christmas

EXTRA buses on the festive bank holidays are being laid on by Littlehampton Town Council.

And in another seasonal bonus, the popular 12 service, also known as the Town Bus, will be running on Sundays up to Christmas and the new year, in a trial by operator Compass Bus.

The town council has agreed to support the extra holiday services on the number 12, which runs between Rustington Sainsbury’s and Littlehampton Tesco, via Littlehampton town centre.

The service will run on the bank holidays after Christmas and over the new year, when other services will be very sparse, on December 27 and 28 and January 1 and 3.

Sunday buses will be operated by Compass Bus on November 28, December 5, 12 and 19 and January 2.

All the services will operate between 10am and 5pm, linking in with the opening hours of major stores in Littlehampton.

Councillor Nick Wiltshire, chairman of the town council’s planning and transportation committee, welcomed the moves. “The town council is pleased to be able to fund these extra bank holiday services, allowing residents to visit family and friends over the extended Christmas and new year period.”
