Bus driver from Portslade charged with sex offences

A Portslade man has been charged with sexual offences against four female bus passengers in Brighton while he was employed as a bus driver,

Sussex Police has said. Mark Spalding, 28, currently a labourer, of Sheppard Way, Portslade, is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates Court tomorrow (Thursday, November 28), charged with sexual assault by touching against a woman aged 21, a woman aged 30, a girl aged 14 and a girl aged 13, all between 2014 and 2015.

He is also charged with causing or inciting each of the two girls to engage in sexual activity.

Sussex Police said the offences are all alleged to have happened on buses in Brighton and Hove between 2014 and 2015 while Spalding was employed as a driver by Brighton and Hove Buses.

The charges follow an investigation by detectives from the Brighton Safeguarding Investigations Unit.
