Man and woman arrested on suspicion of dealing class A drugs in Brighton

Two people were arrested on suspicion of dealing class A drugs in Brighton this morning (Wednesday), Sussex Police has revealed.

Police said an 18-year-old man from London was detained on suspicion of possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin and a 24-year-old woman from Slough, was detained on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs in Edward Street.

A police spokesman added: "Prevention officers seized a quantity of drug wraps, cash and phones from the pair. The man remains in custody for questioning and the woman has been released under investigation."

City prevention enforcement inspector Nick Dias said police are continually working to make Brighton and Hove a 'hostile place to deal drugs'.

He added: "These proactive and reactive stops by our prevention and community investigation teams means a significant quantity of drugs are being taken off the city's streets."
