Man appears in court charged with Brighton rape

Sussex Police said a man has been charged in connection with the rape of a 25-year-old woman in Ship Street, Brighton on Tuesday, January 15.

A police spokesperson said: “Mahad Hussein, 22, unemployed, of Copenhagen Place, Tower Hamlets, London, has been charged with two counts of raping a woman 16 years of age or over.

“He appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (January 22) and was remanded in custody to next appear at Lewes Crown Court on Tuesday, February 19.”
