Man arrested after Brighton property is searched for firearms

A 61-year-old man has been arrested after police executed a warrant for the search of firearms at a property in Brighton on Monday.

The warrant was authorised for a house in Richmond Road, Brighton, in a pre-planned intelligence-led operation on a single property, police confirmed.

A 61-year-old man from Brighton was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and the possession of ammunition for a firearm without a certificate, police said.

The man remains in police custody at this stage.

The scene has been secured for searches, assisted by the Explosive Ordnance Department, confirmed police.
