Positive feedback for armed Gatwick checkpoints

Officers running armed police checkpoints at entrances to Gatwick airport today say they have received positive feedback from drivers.

A spokesman for Gatwick Police said on Twitter they were conducting ‘armed road checks’ with ‘variations in time, location, and tactics.’

“Thanks for positive feedback from arriving drivers feeling reassured,” the spokesperson added.
