School pupil approached by '˜unknown man'

Police are investigating after a pupil was approached by an unknown man on a footpath close to a Brighton school on Wednesday (January 3).

The incident was reported to have happened at around at 9.30am on a path close to Stringer Way near to Dorothy Stringer School.

Police said they are treating this as an isolated incident but would like to remind students and parents about personal safety whilst travelling to and from school.

The man is described as white, 6ft, of skinny build, aged in his 30s, with stubble, short dark brown hair and wearing a light grey beanie hat, dark grey jogging bottoms, trainers and a black gilet. He spoke with a local accent.
