Teenager arrested in Brighton hit-and-run investigation

A teenager has been arrested in connection with a collision in Brighton that left a young boy seriously injured in hospital, police have said.

On Sunday (September 16), nine-year-old Logan Dore was hit by a moped while riding his scooter in Whitehawk Road, said police, at about 12.15pm.

Police said the moped failed to stop at the scene and and Logan was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital, but has since been discharged.

A police spokesman said a 16-year-old boy from Brighton handed himself into police on Wednesday evening (September 19), and was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle. He remained in custody at 9pm last night (September 19).
