Two injured in '˜violent incident' outside Brighton pub

Police are appealing for witnesses after two men were injured in a violent incident outside a Brighton city centre pub.

Officers were called to reports of a disturbance outside the Mash Tun pub in Church Street Brighton at half past midnight on Thursday (13 September), police said.

A 19-year-old man had sustained a broken wrist and a dislocated elbow, police said.

A 23-year-old man who was with him had sustained bruising, according to police.

Both men, who come from Brighton, were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital for treatment and the 19-year-old is still receiving in-patient treatment there.

Nobody else was reported to have been injured and no arrests have been made at this stage, confirmed police.

Detective Constable Simon Rideout said; “Our enquiries are continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact us online or by calling 101, quoting serial 30 of 13/09.”
