Wanted man arrested in Brighton

A wanted man has been arrested and charged, police said.

Valerrijus Serebriakovas, 42, unemployed, of no fixed address, was arrested in Brighton on Saturday (March 20), as a result of information supplied by the public.

He has been charged with two offences of assault by beating against a woman known to him, added police.

He is due to appear in custody at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Monday (March 22).

Sergeant Alec Barrett said: “We are grateful for the information, help from the public in tracing alleged offenders is always welcomed.”

An appeal for information on Mr Serebriakovas’s whereabouts was issued by police on Friday (March 19).
