Dazzling display at Littlehampton OPEN Exhibition

THE climax to an exciting year of exhibitions at Littlehampton Museum has proved to be really hot stuff.

The spectacular show, the fourth annual OPEN Exhibition, has a Fire and Ice theme, attracting some stunning entries.

Each year, Sussex-based amateur and professional artists of all ages are invited to submit up to three of their best pieces in all mediums. The entries are all then judged by the museum team in September, ahead of the exhibition.

This year has proved to be a show stopper, as the quality of work received was outstanding.

Jonathan Parrett, archives and exhibitions officer at Littlehampton Museum, said: “It seems to get better as each year’s artists build on the success of the annual display and the result is a dazzling variety of art forms creating a feast for eyes this autumn.

“The team are displaying the incredible array of work in the Hearne Gallery once again this year and visitors to the museum can enjoy the show until Thursday, December 24.

“Local art fans will also have a chance to vote for their favourite entry, with the top three artists receiving the most votes winning a special feature in the Littlehampton Gazette.”

The OPEN exhibition was launched last Saturday, when all of the artists were invited to enjoy the show with a special canape reception.

Dr James Walsh, chairman of Littlehampton Town Council’s community resources committee, said: “Once again we are thrilled with the response we have had for our OPEN Exhibition.

“This year’s theme is a perfect way to banish the winter blues, so be sure to come along and see all of the wonderful entries, and, of course, cast your vote.”

Littlehampton Museum is located at Manor House, Church Street, Littlehampton, and it is open 9am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday, 10.30am to 4.30pm Saturday. Admission is free.
