Eight fire engines called to Hove seafront blaze

Eight fire engines have been called to a serious fire in Hove today (July 28).

Emergency services were called to the blaze in the cavity of a five floor building in Brunswick Terrace at about 1.20pm.

By 2.30pm, eight fire engines and an aerial ladder platform were on scene.

Crews are using eight breathing apparatus, three hose reel jets, one main jet and a hydrant to fight the flames.

There are no reports of injuries, according to the fire service.

People are being asked to avoid the area.
